@ReinhardtBuhr4 years agoHey there, I couldn't really see what the ram usage was? Do you know how much ram that session took? Would love to see a lot of plugins loaded to see how it handles the ram as I think that is the biggest worry most producers have regarding the 8GB M1 Macbook pro's. Would really appreciate a video regarding that, thank you! ...12

@DrumInfected4 years agoMuch appreciated on all the testing, you are the first and only one to be doing it with Ableton so thank you again for doing this and making more videos on testing the M1. I have a Late 2013 macbook pro with el capitan 10.11.6 (last supported version for ableton) and looking to upgrade and have been waiting to go for intel or jump in with the M1 macbook pro and these videos definitely are helping my decision! Midi Tracks def eat up more CPU and RAM so I would love to see a stress test on Midi tracks please. ...1

@farhannahbadruzaman57573 years agoCould you do a tutorial on how you set up Rosetta 2 on the new M1 MacBook and open Ableton with Rosetta 2 as I seem to be having issues with this

@stevenewman32994 years agoHello, this time I own the MacBook Pro 13" (2019) with 8GB Ram and i5 for music production with Ableton Live 10. The MacBook is most time good enough but if there are a lot of audio recorded vocals, guitars, real or computer drums in Ableton Live the CPU is too high. Do you think if there is a difference between the MacBook and Apple M1 (for example Mac Mini M1), because the fan of the MacBook is mostly loud and the CPU? I want to buy a new working machine and decide between the Mac Mini i7 and 64GB RAM and the Mac mini M1 with 16 GB RAM, because other Macs are today too expensive and which one do you recommend? ...

@drugaruka4 years agoCan you stress it with a lot of VSTs? Audio doesn’t really show preformance. :)

@Mickeysternum2454 years agoUnless I'm mistaken isn't this more of a disk speed test playing back lots of audio files? Especially when Ableton is probably just referencing the same audio file 93 times. Would be great to see 93 MIDI instruments/synths at once if you get the chance, something that's actually taxing the CPU ...11

@kennethharte57224 years agoIt is great to see this working! Is that 96 different files or 96 instances of the same file? What buffer size are you working at. Does M4L work specifically the convolution reverb? Can you test all bundled plugins by loading every Ableton plugin onto a single track, grouping them and then applying that effects group to every track and see at what point the sample buffering issues start to happen. I will subscribe in the hope that you do this. Thanks for making the vid and uploading it. ...1

@jaimemejia64714 years agoCan you please test with VSTs? For example try loading wavetable and max out the unison. Then make a chord and duplicate it like u did untill it chokes. It would be amazing <3
