Aeromatic 1912 Tauchmeister 1937 Rotary Slide Rule Chronograph

Published 9 Aug 2020

So, upping the class level a bit here, this "Germasian" watch is a delight and am very pleased with it, it came with papers in a nice printed tin and the watch arrived a little dickywampus but soon put right. This particular Miyota movement has like its Seiko counterparts, the ability to correct chronograph and the "high hand" by pulling crown full out and then using the buttons to advance the relative hand setting til its sorted where you want it. A perpetual second hand on the lower subdial, has minutes and 24 hour subdials, the lume is very bright and I believe its superluminova which has become the industry standard. An excellent quality strap, soft on the inside and stiff on the outside giving it resilience and comfort at the same time. Fully functional rotary slide rule for making complex equations and used in navigation to work out distances and average speeds, fuel used or proposed fuel to be used when working out your navigational chart say flying a plane or piloting your ship. Nice screwdown engraved caseback into a very clean brushed case, sapphire crystal, signed crown finishes off the package nicely. I love my Soviet watches, I love my vintage Seiko's and my super heavy tanks and Amphibia's but I must admit I do like this a heck of a lot, it feels nice, looks great and does what it says on the tin. Watch out for more Aeromatic's in the future as I really want some of their canteen crown pieces for the collection. Take care all and toodlepipski or rather would that be Eich Bein Toodlepipsberg?
