Cement Storage, McInnis Cement, Providence, Rhode Island, USA
McInnis Cement wanted to increase
the efficiency of its Rhode Island cement facility.
The inability of the existing flat storage to offload a ship
while reclaiming product delayed operations.
But the soil wasn’t ideal, and the area had height restrictions.
A DomeSilo managed both concerns.
The DomeSilo is 134 feet (40 meters) in diameter
with a storage capacity of 40,000 metric tons.
The dome can be filled from the ship unloader
at 300 metric tons per hour.
Filters at the dome apex mitigate dust.
100 percent reclaim is achieved utilizing the
FLSmidth Ful-Floor system.
Dome Technology also built a new load-out structure.
Keeping product flowing is the key to keeping
operating costs low.
With added efficiency and a robust storage system
McInnis will be able to service the area for years to come.
