Dawud Wharnsby Ali in Philly Dec 2017 (History of music)

Today in Philadelphia, PA I finally had the honor of seeing one of my all time favorite artists and a source of inspiration whom I have known from so far away for the past 11 years since I was a young confused teenager in Cairo trying to learn about the world and myself. I took his songs everywhere, to classes, protests, and public talks and they took me so far away as well. In this video Dawud Wharnsby Ali talked about one of the oldest religious hymn in the world and that was sung by the people of Medina upon the arrival of prophet Muhammad PBUH. طلع البدر علينا من ثنيات الوداع وجب الشكر علينا ما دعا لله داع
