Where do you go when you have a question to ask? The question can be anything, such as: - "What is the meaning of life?" - "How do you negotiate for a better salary?" - "What can I do to backup my smart phone data?" - "How do I start contributing to open source?" These are just few types of questions that we might ask. In the past, what we typically did was to ask the people around us. They can be your family, your friends, your classmates, or someone whom you closely know. Then, there always have been the library and book stores. These venues offer the knowledge and resources where anyone can come in and search for the answers by themselves. When the computer arrived, these knowledge base also extend to the form of **Encyclopedia,** usually shipped by the floppy disks or CD Roms. When the internet age arrived, these knowledge base migrated to the **Wikipedia,** etc. And the search engine like **Google** was born with a purpose to easily search for the questions and answers like this. The lesson is clear, though. We all have questions, and we want them to be answered. The programmers often need these knowledge base more than others, so the sites like **Stackoverflow** was born. The original founders from Facebook saw this opportunity for everyone and created **Quora,** which is an internet Q&A platform for general mass. Now, we have the plenty of Q&A sites out there where people can directly visit these sites and asks questions, answer questions, or find answers to their questions. But what if you want to create your own Q&A platform? Of course, if you know how to program, you can develop everything from a scratch. But this means that you need to write a lot of codings for the front-end, backend, database, security, etc. This is not a simple task. But what if there is an already ready made tested solution to deploy your Q&A platform with few simple steps. In fact, can you leverage the power of open source to host your own Q&A platform? This is what this blog article is about. I am going to show you how you can install and manage your own Q&A sites through open source projects.
