INGREDIENTS:
1 cup water
1 1/2 tsp instant coffee (or 1 cup brewed black coffee)
1 tbsp raw cocoa powder
1 frozen banana
3 dates
1/2 cup low fat milk
1/2 cup low fat curd/yogurt
1 tbsp flax seeds
3 tbsp oats
3 sliced almonds and 1/2 tsp chia seeds to garnish
NOTE: You can add chia seeds instead of flax seeds
IMP NOTE: All grains contain phytic acid (an organic acid in which phosphorous is bound) in the outer layer or bran.
If you notice any stomach pain, indigestion, or constipation. Then your body is not tolerating the phytic acid in the oats, and you have to soak the oats for a few hours or overnight to reduce the acidity of the oats. Or you should lightly roast the oats, but since instant oats are precooked it usually does not create any issues. Pls refer this video to understand the different types of oats /watch/2lVCzlC ...
Soaking in acidic solutions (lemon juice, curd, yogurt etc) allows enzyme, lactobacilli and other helpful organisms to break down and neutralize phytic acid.
